The second volume of Bridging the Gap: Disciplines, Times, and Spaces in Dialogue comprises a collection of papers presented in three academic sessions at the Broadening Horizons six Conference, held at Freie Universität Berlin from June 24 to 28, 2019. Edited by Nathalie Kallas, this volume brings together research on various aspects of Ancient Near Eastern studies.

Since 2007, the Broadening Horizons conferences have provided a regular platform for young researchers and postgraduate students in the field of Ancient Near Eastern studies. These conferences aim to foster communication and develop interdisciplinary approaches to the study of material cultures and historical texts. In line with this objective, the second volume includes papers from the following three academic sessions:

Session 3: Visual and Textual Forms of Communication
Session 7: The Future of the Past; Archaeologists and Historians in Cultural Heritage Studies
Session 8: Produce, Consume, Repeat; History and Archaeology of Ancient Near Eastern Economies

This volume features 20 papers covering a wide range of topics across multiple periods, from the 5th millennium BCE to the Roman Empire. The studies explore various geographical regions of the Near East, offering new perspectives on cultural, economic, and social interactions.
