The Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, in collaboration with the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, is honoured to host the first “Conference on Rudaki and Cultural Connections Between Iran and Tajikistan.” This conference marks the inaugural step in a series of cultural dialogues to strengthen ties between the two nations. With a firm commitment to fostering relations with neighbouring countries, Ferdowsi University has prioritized collaboration with Tajikistan’s cultural and linguistic counterparts.
The conference is led by Dr. Mohammad Javad Yahaghi, whose dedicated efforts have been instrumental in its realization. Dr. Salman Sakket serves as the scientific secretary, managing the event’s academic and organizational aspects.
The conference will take place on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, in two sessions. The morning session will run from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Rajai Hall, Faculty of Literature and Humanities, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. The afternoon session will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM in Rudaki Hall, Cultural Complex. Notably, six distinguished professors from Tajikistan, invited by the university’s International Scientific Collaborations Office, will attend the conference.
The closing ceremony will be held from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM in Rudaki Hall. It will feature speeches by the President of the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, the Head of the International Scientific Collaborations Center of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, the conference chair, the Tajikistan Ambassador to Iran, and the Minister of Science, Research, and Technology.
This series of conferences will continue annually, focusing on various topics to enhance cultural connections between the two countries. While Iran will host the first edition, Tajikistan will also host next year’s conference.
