Two Research Assistant Positions (Pre-Doctoral, 65%) in Iranian Studies at Freie Universität Berlin
The Department of History and Cultural Studies at Freie Universität Berlin has announced the opening of two pre-doctoral research assistant positions (65%) within the Emmy Noether Research Project “The Linguistic (Pre-)History of the Indo-Iranian Frontier.” Both positions are temporary and extend until December 31, 2028, offering successful applicants the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree within the project framework.
The positions focus on the linguistic history and structure of the Indo-Iranian frontier regions, engaging with contemporary border languages and their relevance for historical-comparative linguistics. This project sheds new light on the linguistic landscape of the areas spanning modern Afghanistan and Pakistan, contributing to the reconstruction of Iranic and Indo-Aryan linguistic prehistory.
