The First Issue of Gosan Almanac Published on the Occasion of Mehrgan 2585 (1405)

A 16:9 wide composition featuring the cover of the Gosan cultural and arts periodical centered in sharp focus. The portrait-oriented cover appears slightly elevated with a soft drop shadow, while the left and right sides of the frame are filled with enlarged, heavily blurred versions of the same artwork to create a blurred pillarbox effect. The cover has a clean white upper section with Persian title elements and a muted illustration below showing an ancient winged figure in a stone-relief style. The blurred side areas match the cover’s soft beige, gray, and warm gold tones, creating a cohesive and elegant presentation.

We are pleased to announce the publication of the first issue of Gosan Almanac, coinciding with the celebration of Mehrgan—a step toward preserving, rediscovering, and retelling Iran’s cultural, artistic, and historical heritage.

Gosan Almanac is founded on the belief that understanding cultural heritage requires research, inquiry, critical reflection, and a renewed examination of the narratives that shape our historical and cultural memory.

At a time when many aspects of Iran’s culture and artistic legacy remain little known or risk being forgotten, Gosan seeks to provide a platform for presenting this heritage, introducing fresh perspectives, and opening new avenues for understanding Iran’s cultural identity.

The name Gosan evokes ancient Iranian traditions of storytelling and performance, through which art and narrative helped transmit memories, ideas, and historical experiences.

This first issue marks the beginning of an ongoing effort to document, examine, and rediscover lesser-known dimensions of Iran’s rich cultural legacy. With the participation of researchers, writers, artists, and all those interested in Iranian culture, we hope this endeavor will continue to grow.

We invite everyone interested in Iran’s culture, art, history, and heritage to read and share this publication and join us in preserving cultural memory and encouraging meaningful dialogue about Iran’s heritage.
