Shah­nameh schol­ars believe that the old­est writ­ten text con­tain­ing a few vers­es from the Shah­nameh is the Sand­bad­nameh by Zaheri Samar­qan­di, dat­ing back to 604 AH (1207 AD). This work ref­er­ences six vers­es from the Shah­nameh .Argh­van argues that the old­est verse of the Shah­nameh dates back to 566 AH)1171AD) and appears in the book Rauzat al-Janan fi Tafsir al-Quran by Abu al-Fath Razi.This poem is about the war of Kay Khos­row.
