Professor Antonio Panaino, Full Professor at the University of Bologna and one of the most renowned scholars in the field of Zoroastrian studies and Avestan-Pahlavi literature, will deliver a lecture today, October 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. as part of the Zoroastrian Studies Seminar Series organized by the Elahé Omidyar Mir-Djalali Institute of Iranian Studies at the University of Toronto.
The topic of his presentation will be “The Mental Dimension of Evil in Zoroastrianism.” The confrontation between Ahura Mazda and Angra-Mainyu (Ahriman) constitutes one of the central and foundational issues of the Zoroastrian religion, offering deeper insights into the structure and worldview of Zoroastrian doctrine. This lecture will be of significant interest to all scholars and enthusiasts of Ancient Iranian studies.
