Manichaean Texts Database Added to Pārsīg Database

Middle Persian Manichaean texts with Persian translation by Dr. Hossein Mostafavi Kashani have been added to the Pārsīg Database. In the first phase, the Middle Persian texts of “A Reader in Manichaean, Middle Persian, and Parthian” by Mary Boyce consisting of 59 texts, their spelling, transcription, translation and words have been added. The site allows searching by Manichaean script, searching for transcription, spelling and Persian translation of words, as well as all grammatical tags. Also, the manuscript version of all texts (from the Turfanforschung Digitales Turfan-Archiv website) is made available in the “Text Search” section.

The Pārsīg Database is a database of Middle Persian texts. The database was first launched in December 2020 with about 40,000 words. It’s free for all researchers, provided the source is cited. This database lists Zoroastrian texts, private inscriptions, and recently Manichaean texts.
