This arti­cle dis­cuss­es the con­ser­va­tion and restora­tion of the Espah­bad Khor­shid Arch- Struc­ture in Savad­k­ouh Coun­ty, Mazan­daran Province, after archae­o­log­i­cal exca­va­tions in 1402. This his­tor­i­cal arch, which dates back to the Sas­sanid era and the ear­ly Islam­ic peri­od in north­ern Iran, has a unique archi­tec­tur­al struc­ture. After the archae­o­log­i­cal exca­va­tions, emer­gency con­ser­va­tion and restora­tion oper­a­tions were car­ried out to pre­vent fur­ther destruc­tion of the arch. These oper­a­tions includ­ed clean­ing, restor­ing the Sas­sanid arch­es, and sta­bi­liz­ing the wall paint­ings. This restora­tion was car­ried out in coop­er­a­tion with vol­un­teer groups and his­to­ry and nature enthu­si­asts, and was based on the the­o­ry of the Venice Char­ter.
