The 12th issue of the international journal Ancient Iranian Studies – in memory of Dr. Hassan Talaei, the renowned professor of Iranian archaeology – has been published with articles on Iranian archaeology and history by Behrouz Jeolodarian Bidgoli, Neshat Mottaghi, Elnaz Habi; Hanieh Fadaee-Tamijani; Nasrin Seyed-Razavi, Mohsen Qaraati (Shayan Arta); Mohammadreza Nemati, Milad Baghsheikhi, Esmaeil Sharahi; Ali Hozhabri, Mosayyeb Amiri, Abdolreza Mohajerinezhad, Kiarash Gholami.
This issue includes articles on the reliefs and morphology of the Chaladaem cemetery in Khalkhal, Ardabil, based on reflectance imaging data; The hot and dry climate of the origin of the Persian gardens: Recognizing the roots of the Persian garden archetype based on climatic strategies; Typology of the stone relief patterns in Persepolis; A review and study of pottery found during the first season of archaeological excavations at the Zel Cave in Hastijan, and a study of a newly discovered rock relief from the Sassanid period in England have been published.
