The Seventh National Conference on the “Languages and Dialects of Iran: Past and Present” will be held at the Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia with the participation of prominent scholars in the fields of linguistics and Iranian cultural studies. Recognized by the ISC for its academic merit, the conference will take place on Monday, July 29, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Andisheh Hall of the International Conference Center of Rayzan. Attendance is open to the public and free of charge.
The academic chair of the conference is Dr. Mahmoud Jafari-Dehaghi. The program features lectures by renowned scholars including Zhaleh Amuzegar, Ali-Ashraf Sadeghi, Asghar Dadbeh, Ali Al-e Davood, Ahmad Pakatchi, Hassan Rezaei Baghbidi, Ali Bahramian, Saloumeh Gholami, Andranik Simony, Mohammad Rasekh Mohand, Mohsen Shojaei, Mehrdad Meshkinfam, Mehrdad Nazgouy-Kohan, Jahandoust Sabz-Alipour, Shadi Davari, Arash Akbari Mofakher, Mehrdad Derafshi, Jalal Rahimian, Farrokh Hajiani, Sohrab Gholami, Razieh Mousavi-Khoo, Reza Heydarizadeh, Milad Bigdeloo, Zaman Rezakhani, Simindokht Goudarzi, Neda Khalilzadeh Askouei, and Roghieh Karimzadeh Naqshineh.
In addition to the scholarly sessions, the conference will also include the unveiling of the book “Collected Articles of the Sixth National Conference on the Languages and Dialects of Iran.“
This academic event offers an opportunity to become acquainted with the latest research in the study of ancient, Middle, and modern Iranian languages and texts, as well as to explore the role of Iranian languages as a cultural bridge among the nations of the region. Another key aim is to encourage young researchers to pursue deeper inquiries into Iranian linguistics.
