The contributors approach these areas through the concept of <b>\u201cimperial borderlands,\u201d<\/b> examining the diverse forms of interaction between imperial structures and territories beyond their direct control.<\/p><p>With a broad chronological and geographical scope, extending from the first millennium BCE to the end of Antiquity and beyond and encompassing the worlds of Afro-Eurasia, the volume presents the first concentrated study of the phenomenon of imperial borderlands. It brings together contributions by specialists working across a range of fields.<\/p><p>The book comprises 515 pages and 56 illustrations and is published in English as a hardback.
